Can we calculate the rolling resistance coefficient theoretically?

Yes, I guess what I mean is rolling resistance And I am assuming we calculate only the resistance from compression or deformation of surface.

Can we calculate the rolling resistance coefficient theoretically?

You misunderstood my question, sir. I am not asking what rolling friction is. I am asking if there is an existing formula to find the rolling friction coefficient of a body from its material properties without any form of experimentation. Do reply if you can.

Can we calculate the rolling resistance coefficient theoretically?

I was wondering that if rolling resistance is basically caused by slight deformation of a body, we must have formulas in place to relate it to the physical and material properties of a body. But when I went ravaging for it in library or internet, everything was experimental. I wished to know...

B Black Holes: Rotating vs Non-Rotating

I am reading about Kerr black holes and non rotating black holes. But I am unable to understand what decides whether the black hole will not rotate or rotate. And if No Hair theorem suggests, we can know about a black hole through its angular momentum, what implications does zero angular...

I Exploring the Distinction Between Virtual and Real Particles in String Theory

I am reading a bit about them. However, I feel that there is not much difference between them except for the life span. Can you please help me understand the distinction ? Can this be explained on basis of string theory ? Please elaborate.

I Is Gravitation Responsible for the Stability of the Universe?

I understand your point. So, do you mean expansion is not playing any role in this observation ?

I Is Gravitation Responsible for the Stability of the Universe?

I know we have such evidences. However, I wanted to know if this phenomenon can be considered a proof.

I Is Gravitation Responsible for the Stability of the Universe?

In the universe, there are several celestial bodies, all of which attract each other. Then why is it so that they do not collapse towards each other. Is it a consequence of expansion. If so, will a change in acceleration of expansion have any effect on it.And can then this be considered a...

I Can someone explain the Higgs Boson and its significance in particle physics?

I have not really got much of an idea. Most of the articles have too much usage of technical words. I need to know almost every theory on particle physics to get to understand it. So I thought maybe someone over here can cut out the too much adavanced terminology. Also, I can't understand what...

I Can someone explain the Higgs Boson and its significance in particle physics?

Can anyone shed a bit of light on what a Higgs Boson is, how it was discovered and what its discovery implies for physics ?

    B Balloon Analogy - 3D universe on a 2D plane

As a beginner here, I don't really know how to access the signature of someone. Can you please guide me ?

    B Balloon Analogy - 3D universe on a 2D plane

This has been a real famous analogy and I understand it, except the fact that the balloon surface is a 2D structure. How is it possible to depict a 3D universe on a 2D plane ? What happens when we work with stars at multiple planes ?

I Will the acceleration of the expansion of universe ever decrease?

Sorry again. Oh yes. I understood mfb answer. Did not spot it at first. Thats why. Never mind. Ignore this subsequent question.

I Will the acceleration of the expansion of universe ever decrease?

Sorry. Actually I misplaced my question. Let me reframe my question. He gave 2 possible causes of this energy. I wanted to know which is consistent with the latest observations and models ?
