A choice is the range of different things from which you can choose. The arrival at a choice may incorporate motivators and models. For example, a traveler might choose a route for a journey based on the preference of arriving at a given destination at a specified time. The preferred (and therefore chosen) route can then account for information such as the length of each of the possible routes, the amount of fuel in the vehicle, traffic conditions, etc.
Simple choices might include what to eat for dinner or what to wear on a Saturday morning – choices that have relatively low-impact on the chooser's life overall. More complex choices might involve (for example) what candidate to vote for in an election, what profession to pursue, a life partner, etc. – choices based on multiple influences and having larger ramifications.
Freedom of choice is generally cherished, whereas a severely limited or artificially restricted choice can lead to discomfort with choosing, and possibly an unsatisfactory outcome. In contrast, a choice with excessively numerous options may lead to confusion, reduced satisfaction, regret of the alternatives not taken, and indifference in an unstructured existence;
and the illusion that choosing an object or a course, necessarily leads to the control of that object or course, can cause psychological problems.
Hello there,
The tests for university is fast approaching, but I cannot make my mind up which way to go. Even now, I study calculus and some physics, and each time I start studying I feel awestruck, I totally adore natural sciences. But there remains a problem. Here in Turkey, being a scientist...

If |X| = n > 0, there are 1C1nC12C1nC2...nC1nCn many choice functions from (power set of X minus empty set) P(X)\{{}} to X?
Just curious. I'm jumping ahead a bit, but that makes sense to me. Is it correct? Is it much more difficult to understand when X is infinite?
I am really confused about this subject matter, as a matter of fact, anything having to do with axioms.
For instance,
If X={1,2,3}
How do I find at least three different choice function c:P(X)--->X?
Is the number of different choice functions in {c:P(X)--->X} 7 since it is without...
If f X---> Y is a function and if there is exactly one function g:Y---> X so that
f o g = id_y, the f is a bijection and g=f^-1. Do I need to use the axiom of choice to prove this theorem?
hi everyone,
i am a junior nuclear engineer at A&M. After taking engineer classes, i feel engineering only focus on specific problems, and doesn't make me understand the subject clearly and deeply as Physics does. Furthermore i like theoretical works than design reactors and so on. I am not...
Hi guys, I need help with the following problem I couldn't figure out:
1) A block of mass 2 kg slides along a horizontal tabletop. A horizontal applied force of 12 N and a vertical applied force of 15 N act on the block. If the coefficient of kinetic friction between the block and the table...
Two balls of masses m1 and m2 are moving along x-axis w/ velocities, v1>v2>0. After transforming from the lab frame to the center-of-mass frame, what are the velocities of m1, v1com, and mass m2, v2com? Vcom is the center of mass velocity for the system of both balls. The choices are...

In Europe, a woman was near death from a special kind of cancer. There was one drug that the doctors thought might save her. It was a form of radium that a druggist in the same town had recently discovered. the drug was expensive to make, but the druggist was charging ten times what the drug...

Some time ago I read some stuff about delayed choice and quantum eraser experiments, but rather than reading the articles thorouhgly, I just glanced at them quickly, picked up a few ideas, and then tried to design a gedanken experiment of my own. Now I seem to have run into a bit of a problem...
we had the following test question last week in my physics class:

I am enrolled in the University of Florida and I am currently on the fence about what to study. I'm positive I want to study engineering, but I cannot decide between chemical engineering and materials engineering. The Chemical Engineering program here is I believe good but I don't think it is...
I have been contemplating this experiment for quite some time now, and I have some questions. http://xxx.lanl.gov/PS_cache/quant-ph/pdf/9903/9903047.pdf is a preliminary copy of the paper describing the experiment, for reference.
The first and most obvious question would be whether it is...

Physics Questions (mult choice!)
These questions confuse me:

Is anyone familiar with the Basic STAMP 2 microcontoller?
I have found a little information about it, but not much. I would like to start tinkering around with some type of microcontroller, probably something to run stepper motors. Would this be a good choice?

Now that all's been said and done, and no one has any pressure to over-exagerate John Kerry to try to help him get elected, or demonize him in hopes of him losing, I pose this question again:
Was John Kerry the best choice for the Democratic nomination?
I posted this in the EE forum, but it got very few responses (read: none). So I have decided to post it here, since this is the forum for this type of post, anyway.
Here it is:

We have no choice. Since the idea of decision requires at minimum at least two choices I can prove choice impossible:
At the point when a person attends to one choice, the physics of the other time and place are moving (energy is neither created nor destroyed, nor stopped), which proves by...
Sophie’s Choice
A while ago a movie was produced called Sophie’s Choice.
It was a long time ago so excuse me if my rendition is incorrrect. I am using it as a medium to pose a vexatious ethical dilemma. It is the ethics not the film I wish to be discussed.
It was set during the second...
"The rational choice is not always the one with the most humanity in it"
Give me your point of view about this quotation. You may agree or disagree with it.
Just curious (and nervous bc the test is tomorrow) but is the equation sheet given on the multiple choice section or only on the free response part? Thanks for your help!
Hey everyone... since the AP Physics C Exam is coming up next monday I was looking for old exams online (multiple choice exams) to study from. I've been searching for days and haven't come up with anything. Does anyone know where I can find old multiple choice sections of the AP Physics C Exam.
I heard something along the lines of when you accept the axiom of choice as true, you can then prove using some abstract set theory that by dividing a sphere, you can divide it and then put it together so that it is bigger than it originally was?
Is the math behind this proof difficult? And...
Heres an AP multiple choice problem that's giving me some trouble:

d) kty + 5
e) \frac{1}{2}ky^2 + \frac{1}{2}

Let me explain. Here we have the situation : The universe was just created along with the angels, etc. Lucifer among them. Everyday we make choices in our lives. Just like us , Satan made a choice. He chose to defy God - BIG MISTAKE! Although all of us defy Him as well, it is a little harder for...
