Ball Returns to Pool Table: Is It Possible?

In summary, the conversation discusses the possibility of a ball returning to the pool table after entering a pocket, either through its momentum or by some arrangement. One person mentions seeing it happen on a snooker table, but notes that the ball did not actually settle in the pocket and may have had a lot of spin. Another person adds that it would be difficult to observe without a high speed camera. The original question is clarified to ask if the ball can consistently return from the same hole.

Hi guys,,

Is it possible or can it happen,,,Like
Is there any way possible that ball can return back to the pool table itself back somehow when it pierces into the hole either by making use of its momentum or by any arrangement possible...

I have seen it happen on a snooker table, but the ball did not actualy settle in the pocket, i think the ball must have had a lot of spin.

Yes the same hole, but you would need a high speed camera to see what actualy happened.

FAQ: Ball Returns to Pool Table: Is It Possible?

Is it possible for a ball to return to the pool table after it has been hit?

Yes, it is possible for a ball to return to the pool table after it has been hit. This is known as a bank shot or ricochet, where the ball bounces off one or more cushion rails before returning to the table.

What factors affect the likelihood of a ball returning to the pool table?

The angle and speed at which the ball is hit, as well as the condition of the cushion rails and the type of cloth on the table, can all affect the likelihood of a ball returning to the pool table.

Can a ball return to the pool table if it is hit too hard?

Yes, if a ball is hit too hard, it can still return to the pool table. However, the angle and speed of the ball may be difficult to control, making it less likely to return to a desired position on the table.

Is it possible for a ball to return to the pool table if it is hit at an extreme angle?

Yes, a ball can still return to the pool table if it is hit at an extreme angle. However, the angle and speed of the ball may be difficult to predict and control, making it a more challenging shot.

How can I improve my chances of a successful bank shot in pool?

To improve your chances of a successful bank shot, you can practice and familiarize yourself with the angles and speed at which the ball returns to the table. You can also ensure that the cushion rails are in good condition and use a cloth that is appropriate for bank shots.
