I'm planing on taking a tour group to Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Munich, Venice, Rome, Florence, Lucerne, and Paris this May. Lemme know if anyone is located in or around those cities and maybe we can meet up.

I see you're putting the contributors' money to good use.

Sounds fun! How long are you going to be touring? That's a lot of places to see in a single trip!

Wow! Well, hopefully when the European members wake up soon, they'll have recommendations of nice places that might be off the regular tourist path. I hope you have a good camera, because we're going to want to see lots of pictures!

You know where you can find me :-p I think you'll especially like Italy, it's beautiful. May is a good time to go, just out of the season and very decent weather.

I'll just have to drag him along then! I do have to work, so we'll see if it works out. You're taking a tour group, are you going alone or with a bunch of friends? Nine cities in 23 days, I do think that is going to be an exhausting trip.. are you planning to go by train or airplane?

Well from the US, mostly likely one arrives in Amsterdam, and one leaves from Amsterdam.

Greg, that's a pretty ambitious itinerary, but it seems do-able in that order.

I once did a one-thousand mile business trip in Germany in one week, including several hours of meetings each day. I was pretty exhausted after that. And that might have been the trip when I went to Japan the following week.

It will be crazy, but I'm young and I'm just looking for a quick scan of europe to get a little experience so I can go back later in life to spend more time at the places I want to. I think the travel is by train and bus.

I once traveled by bus from Amsterdam to Italy 18 hours long.. I guess for city hopping the bus is fine. A friend traveled through 5 European cities with two young children, you should be able to do 9

I did Barcelona, Montpellier, Chamonix, Turin, Rome, Naples, Venice, Ljubljana, Budapest, Prague and Amsterdam in about 5 weeks, but have since been back to quite a few of those for longer. The train from Prague to Amsterdam was a bit of an arse, but for just seeing cities and getting a taste, I reckon 3 nights or so in each place is alright. And sleeping on the night trains saves some cash too.

One really needs at least a week in most European cities to really appreciate all the different aspects. I have been in most of the major European cities, including several on Greg's list, for almost a week in each case, and there is still a lot more I could do if I return.

I guess it's time for another European trip.

No Brussels-stop ? You don't want to visit the capital of the European Union ? We could meet there, Greg. It's very close to Paris. If you want, maybe we could meet in Paris and perform our Last Tango there    ?

Come to Brussels or Paris and we can finally meet.

How about a PF gathering in one of those cities ?

Why not just Amsterdam, it's an hour closer to Brussels than Paris.

Because Paris is more beatiful than Amsterdam and i know some real nice places (restaurants and stuff) in Paris.

Well, i gues we could meet in Amsterdam too. It's been a while since i have been there.
