Yes, the diagram is badly drawn. With P near the left, I do not believe the structure would sway to the right like that. It just doesn't feel right. It would all make sense if P were to the right of half way.

Ive got a feeling they just got the subscripts wrong and it should say..

MCB is larger than MBC

Eg with p on the left it does move to the right.
