Stillborn Birth & Lactation in Females

In summary, a stillborn birth is when a baby is born without signs of life after the 20th week of pregnancy. Possible causes include genetic abnormalities, placental problems, infections, and pregnancy or delivery complications. Stillborn births occur in about 1 in 160 pregnancies and can sometimes be prevented through appropriate prenatal care and managing health conditions. After a stillborn birth, lactation can still occur in females due to hormonal changes, but the milk supply may be limited. Lactation can also be induced if desired by the mother.

Yes. Birthing is not essential. See induction and relactation. See wet-nurse.

My professor puts lactation in a nice way, he says milk is 'supplied on demand'. What it means is if the milk produced is not used up, then the production would stop. So lactation can still take place without the infant.
