In summary: I like to watch the battle of brains, it is like an ant colony, an intruder getstorn to bits, and some times it is a mexican stand off, a bloody nose hereand a black eye there but no win, and some times the big guys just showpity and let the little guy off with a clip round the earhole. In summary, Evo is a genius at socializing and teaching, but he hates smurfs and liberals.

All of the above...

I find it relaxing to socialize with a group of non-idiots.I never really think about how much stupider people in RL really are... Especially that all my classes except for physics are honors right now(best thing about them, no idiots, woot)...

This is one of my virtual escapes from the country. There are people here from all over.

Hey, ZE, you're from Guam! Cool! My neighbor's from Guam.

Moose: Yeah, it is sort of relaxing. I see what you mean.

And patty, Yep I am from guam!... not much here though. Who's your neighbor i might have known them.

To learn and socialize.

I agree, it's rather unique finding a place with a high caliber of people that are also fun and likeable. Darn, I'd even let most of you into my house...if I was drunk. :-p

I post because I am weak and pathetic...any man worth his salt should be able to resist temptation. But me...I suck and I can't even get banned. How much worse can it be?

To learn? to teach? Socialize?

I needed to get 'warmed-up' prior to an impending lesson.

I stumbled onto PF not long ago, and, thanks to PF, I am almost 'warm'.

Concealed in a number of feindishly clever hiding places with wireless laptops. Would you like to play a game, Evo?

I'll get my coat...

I am re-evaluating the reason I post here.

I'm changing it to "I hate smurf and liberals say the dumbest things"

I'm here to learn. Seeing intelligent arguments seems to be an effective way of fine-tuning my world-view (I hope).

What kind of arguments? Around here? Are you sure? I think I would remember something like that... :-p

Oh, I post here to scare Evo. But I manage to also make stupid comments every once in while.

The mods usually delete threads when they start becoming too intelligent and respectful :-p

I just came here to avoid meeting people from Newark, New Jersey. o:)

I'm Chem-dumb...I come here when I get myself into a bind which used to be more often. I can remember random English information but Chem? Out of the question...I still can't remember the difference between an ionic compound and a covalent compound although I was able to at the beginning of the year.

Still not decided on which physics field to work on though.

I post here because they haven't asked me to stop yet.

ionic-transferred electrons
covalent-shared electrons

FAQ: Which type of bond involves the sharing of electrons?

What is a covalent bond?

A covalent bond is a type of chemical bond that involves the sharing of electrons between atoms. This allows both atoms to achieve a more stable electron configuration.

How does a covalent bond form?

A covalent bond forms when two atoms share one or more pairs of electrons in their outermost energy levels. This sharing of electrons creates a bond between the two atoms.

What types of elements typically form covalent bonds?

Covalent bonds are typically formed between nonmetal atoms. This is because nonmetals tend to have higher electronegativity, meaning they have a stronger attraction for electrons and are more likely to share them with other atoms.

How does the strength of a covalent bond compare to other types of bonds?

Covalent bonds are generally stronger than ionic bonds, but weaker than metallic bonds. This is because covalent bonds involve the sharing of electrons, while ionic bonds involve the transfer of electrons and metallic bonds involve a sea of delocalized electrons.

Can covalent bonds exist between atoms of the same element?

Yes, covalent bonds can exist between atoms of the same element. This is known as a nonpolar covalent bond, where the electrons are shared equally between the two atoms.
