  • I have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for you. I noticed once that I (incorrectly) tried to correct you in one of my threads. For that I apologize. After following your posts and reading your insights, I can truly say that I look up to you. Maybe one day, I’ll have as much to offer.....but I have a long way to go between now and then. Please keep posting on PF, even if I don’t understand all your posts, it gives me something to aspire to.

I feel that as a chemical engineer you bring a lot to the table that us physics students would otherwise miss out on. I hope you're having a good day!

    Hi Chestermiller,

I saw your post about flow in parallel plates and liked your solution. I really needed help with a similar problem and would appreciate it. Could you please give me your email? We're a group of MS students stuck on one problem and you seem like a genius and our only way out.

May 2014 you contributed to a post called "How fast coil springs are "
    I have a similar problem,
I am trying to determine the coil speed of a conical telescopic spring from a fully compressed height = spring wire dia to its free length
Can you help me and what data would you need from me to help?
    Thank you

The best way to get your questions answered on heat capacity is to start a thread in General Physics or Classical Physics sub-forums.

Chet, how long have you been a mentor?
    Chestermiller

About a year and a half. Why?

I saw a post of yours earlier and said to myself, "Chet's a mentor? Since when!?"
I must be getting old. The lower thirties are when you start falling apart, right?

I have no idea what the OP's problem is, but i suspect it arises from copying formulas from somewhere and applying them blindly without understanding what they are about.
