B What is the nature of spacetime?

The state includes this & that particle at this & that time? Ah, plug in the time dimension to get which particle is where & which way it's going. The state doesn't change, the state is the state. Thee state; a universe is characterized by its state. So, an initial inflation & *then* the...

B What is the nature of spacetime?

What about quantum fields & the rapid expansion at the beginning? Are we in a position to suggest what may have been the first quantum field or, were they all there from the start? Why the rapid expansion, something about strong nuclear forces? The further we go back the greater the energy...

The World’s Largest Vacuum Chamber Settles an Old Question

The perpetual dumbing down more than just irritates me but; those feathers falling that far & just sitting next to each other like that is a meditative experience. -Pneumatics

Absolute Relativity (who needs virtual photons anyhow?)

A line along a light-cone(it's been a while) is a light-like ds? something to do with not violating causality, if i remember approximately correctly? I think the link does a good job of that; if we want to talk relativity, light goes 3x10^8m/s by definition. ... Still, there's the virtual...

Absolute Relativity (who needs virtual photons anyhow?)

Not an actual thing... but, wavelength though... hmmm Thanks, i'll spend some time with this. That makes sense, thanks again.

Absolute Relativity (who needs virtual photons anyhow?)

I didn't say "point of view," i said "experience" because the photon is presumably an actual thing: things have trajectories. It's worth considering the functionality of a photon relative to itself, for a little while at least. How does a photon present *it's* trajectory in various contexts...

Absolute Relativity (who needs virtual photons anyhow?)

I've seen, in the description of a black hole's photon sphere, a mention of a "light-like ds." I was happy to see it because I've been thinking about a photon's physical environment; at the speed of light, it would experience no radial dimension & no time dimension. Might it make more sense to...

Can we hear a supersonic plane?

What about a piezoelectric speaker traveling in the direction of its plane & with a surface that could travel at mach 2 plus a little bit? Aside from being materially impossible.
