Hey guys,
I am building my own battery operated cell phone charger. I am pretty sure I built my circuit correctly because the outputs I am reading on my USB output port: pin 1 is 5V and on pin 4 is 0V... which are good readings (and tells me that my voltage regulator is functioning properly and...
Hello, I was reading over poles and filters, but I guess since I don't learn calculus, I don't learn transforms.
With that said, the definition of Poles in my text is a bit iffy... It talks about how the term poles means how many bypass capacitors are in a circuit.
I can't find ANY definitions...
Thank you for the great insight everyone.
So I guess this changes my questioning direction to say... what is the industry like. I am aware that there are many different languages for many different micro processors. I haven't taken any of those classes yet, but I have a motorolla and intel...
I know you weren't putting Arduino down, but even if the PIC code is harder to learn/read, at least it is more standard to industry than the Arduino specific code.
At the end of the day, that is what is most important to me. When I graduate, I won't be looking for a job as a hobbiest :)
Thank you so much! Now I see the difference between decoupling and Direct coupling! phew!
Does anyone know why the midrange gain frequencies are called "mid" range if they start at 0 and end around 10 Hz (for the 741)?
And lastly, is there anything interesting I can do with my 741? For the...
The API comment is invaluable to me. I never really thought of it like that. I was more turned on by the wide variety of features, kits, help services, and robots.
When I googled electronics kits or micro controller kits, the Arduino dominated the search results so I figured it was the...
Thanks! I am actually terrible at Python and I never learned anything in Linux really (though I played around with gentoo a bit back in the early 2000s.
When you say the "frequency cannot keep up" is this because of the slew rate? If the frequency is too high, the op amp literally cannot linearly "mimic" the signal fast enough? Or is this because of something else.
Also, is there a difference between decoupling and DC coupling? or do they...
Hello,
I haven't learned anything about micro controllers yet but I wanted to get a head start since I hear that programming is difficult. I have a pretty good understanding of C and Java but my assembly is terrible and I am out of touch with any IC languages by this point.
I was doing...
Hello, I have two questions today
Reading ahead of my class, I noticed that we were coming up on frequency response. My book kept discussing midrange gain, but it doesn't define it anywhere.
I tried looking online and I couldn't find a good definition there either. The only thing I could...
Thank you very much! While I am not sure exactly what some of what you wrote means, that gives me a HUGE kick in the right direction to do research and study for myself! Thank you so much!
Thanks. Just taking a quick look it seems to read much better than my current text. I will definitely use it side by side when I start on op amps. Hopefully it will help me out a lot. I didn't see any sections that went over BJT configurations in multistage amplifiers though... which was kind...
Hello,
As I mentioned before, thank you for all the mentoring. It has been a huge help to my understanding.
So, I am trying to stay one - two weeks ahead of my operational amplifiers class. I know that we will soon be discussing the 741 Operational amplifier.
While reading about it, I...
