Hi guys,
I'm investigating balancing voltages on a network by injecting or absorbing reactive power with distributed generation.
Is there a base python or MATLAB code model I can leverage? Thanks
I have been attempting to open up files on NASA’s GRS and neutron data,

but have been running into some roadblocks. The data is all stored in .dat IEEE binary format (which IEEE format they do not specify in their documentation...
Hi,
First of all, if this is wrong forum, I apologize; please direct me to the correct one.
I have 4 * 8-byte integers, representing 2 rational numbers (i.e. 2 pairs of a nominator & a denominator).
The 2 rational numbers have the same mathematical value, but different nominator & denominator...
So I want to write a research paper and publish it before I complete my engineering degree this year. I have selected the topic which is "Analysis of the voltage regulation of Self excited induction generator using STATCOM". I have collected all the resources required and am also doing research...
Hi. I am an electrical engineering student in my final year. I want to write a research or review paper this year before completing my degree. I haven't written any paper before. I don't know where to start. Will someone please guide me? In addition to that I haven't selected any topics so I...
Could someone please show me some examples how IEEE single precision format can used to store approximately 7 decimal digits of a number when the number is written in decimal format? How this is related to the statement ##2^{-23}=1.19\times10^{-7}##?
What Magazines or Journals a Computer Science student must read, In order to be in touch with recent research work in Computer Industry. Should I get a subscription of IEEE Xplore Digital Library or some other website like it.
Homework Statement
This is not a homework problem, but rather a concern I had while reading. Not sure where I should've put this thread.

I was reading about how integers/floating point numbers were stored in a computer. For an n-bit word, the...
Hello,
For the IEEE representation of a number, I wanted to ask something for clarification. For single precision, you have 3 parts: S, Exponent, and Fraction.
The S takes 1 bit (1 slot)
Exponent is 8 bits (8 slots)
Fraction is 23 bits (23 slots).
I was watching a video
and it helped me...
Dear friends,
I am looking for an IEEE paper on Cyber Scurity(Computer Science) which range from come on any year from 2012 to 2014 . Please help me with a good paper URL .

The problem is how to begin converting 111011.0101 into floating point. I actually did begin looking at the first digit number "1" and identify that it is a negative since is one and zero is positive. Then I try working 111011.0101 separately by splitting 111011 for now and...
Found via a Slashdot posting, an article in IEEE Spectrum, 25 Microchips that Shook the World:

I thought the 7400 (or the whole 74xx series) deserved to be on there, but it did make the Runners-Up list:

Is it worth it to join IEEE? I've been active with the IEEE student chapter and have been a national student member. But, are there any direct benefits of it? (Aside from getting the magazines, and I don't read the papers on there much).

Hey everyone. I'm a sophomore in Electrical Engineering, and loving it (except for the homework...and tests...). Anyways, it's almost time for me to be applying for scholarships (well, in a couple months), and I was thinking about applying to IEEE as a student member. I was wondering if anyone...
I am having difficulty in converting 29 and 0.7 to IEEE single precision floating point.
For 29,
I represent 29 as a product of a power of 2 using 58/4 * 21.
However, I am having trouble getting the mantissa value because 58/4 is 14.5, and I need something in the format of 1.[numbers]. Any...
