The following structure was given, and I have to name the compound. My guess is that the compound is called 3-bromo phenyl chloro ketone, but I am not sure. Can you tell me if my answer is correct, and also tell me how to tackle the IUPAC naming for this compound? Thank you!

Well I have two possible answers, it's either 1-(cyclopent - 1', 4'- dienyl) methyl ethan-1-ol or 1-methyl - 1 - (cyclopent-1',4'-dienyl) ethan-1-ol. Unfortunately the answer wasn't provided in the textbook.

I don't understand why CH3CH2C(CH3)2CH(CH2CH3)CH3 is 2 ethyl-3,3 dimethyl - pentane and not 3-methyl-4,4-dimethylhexane. When I expand the condensed formula above and count the longest carbon chain, it seem it is a hexane rather than pentane. Can someone please clarify? Homework Statement Write...
