What do you think about the relation btw media and politics?
It seems that all the medias are controlled by politicians and really help politicians to achieve their goals. They never tell us what's exacylt going on in Iraq.So do you still trut their news and accept the picture of world that they...
when you listen to music, do you care about the politics expressed in the music?
example:
if you are a liberal, can you listen to Lynard Skynard?
if you are a republican, can you listen to Green Day?

Hello all
I have been lurking on these boards for a while, and following some of the discussions in this forum as well as in the science and maths forums.
I have a question: I was just wondering whether anyone thinks that the kind of objectivity one pursues in scientific enquiry is also a...
The thread about how more people suddenly call themselves Republicans than Democrats got me thinking about how quickly things change in this country. For instance, In 1976, Carter won Texas, and in 1992, Clinton lost Texas by only 3 points. Now, in '76 and '92, the nation probabally was a bit...
As a non-churchgoer I'm a bit of an ignoramus on churchly matters. So I'm a "little" behind on what's considered the norm when it comes to the influence of the church on one's electoral decision.
I recently heard from a devout Christian (and slightly Republican) friend that the head pastor (I...
Lately I've noticed a certain segregation of music from NOFX's 'Son of an *******' and 'War on Errorism' To Clint Blacks 'Iraq and I roll' and Britney spears supporting George Bush.
Basicly 'Heavy' stuff goes the Anti-Flag (a band) direction of no-war, anti-bush while 'Lighter' country and...
Not sure how many are aware of The Guardian and it's efforts to influence American politics by having Brits send letters to citizens of Ohio. The Guardian is a liberal and widely circulated British publication. Click on the link for some American responses to The Guardian's efforts. To be...
Do you come to PF just for the politics ? That would be quite unusual, yet there are some members I've seen posting in this section, but very rarely anywhere else...
What percentage of your posts would you say, are in the Politics section ?
And if you predominantly post only in Politics...

Second attempt at that little quiz. Hopefully I have phrased the questions better this time around, since I apparently phrased things incorrectly last time. Please respond with only yes or no answers, and perhaps further notes at the end of your responses if you wish.
1) Have US economic...
Here is an interesting article in the NY Times about scientists using M.R.I.'s to study the responses of Democrats and Republicans to various images and commercials. There are no solid findings yet, but it is interesting nontheless.
Howdy all,
There is an issue in the political arena currently that I don’t understand. I will start by introducing myself and then my stance on this issue.
I am a fair minded American republican. I am not gay or a gay activist even, but the issue of gay marriage is baffling to me. I say...
I don't get it, Dick Gephardy was well loved and seemingly a great leader. I understand why he thought that if he did so poorly in Iowa that he'd do much worse elsewhere and dropped out of the presidential race, but why wouldn't someone like that attempt some other office?
See http://www.libertyforum.org/ They also have a science section, perhaps members here can mention Physics Forum over there to get some more publicity.
And here are various other forums:

I thought that it would be a good idea to share the web resources people on this forum use to get news. You can also post non-"web resources" but seeing that it is obvious we all have access to the internet, web resources are guaranteed to be available to everyone (unless one is in China)...
Greetings !
About Zero,
I have been of the opinion that he should not
be the mentor of this forum for quite some time
as he continually expresses extreme political
views and uses his power to supress others with
opposite opinions. Now, in addition to calling
democratic leaders of...
