Hello,
I have been asked an advice about waste heat to power systems (say wh2p).
The available waste heat to be considered is a (dirty) gas in a temperature range between 250°C and 450°C.
The useful power that could be generated would range between 2MW and 10MW.
I know some examples...
I've just completed a lab session on the Rankine Cycle using R141b as the working fluid and have obtained some values for the different effciencies in the cycle. I have that;
ηTheoretical =13.01%
ηPractical =12.07%
ηIsentropic =5.90%
I'm pretty sure I've followed the lab sheet correctly...

A steam power plant operates on a ideal rankine cycle between the pressure limits of 9 Mpa and 10 kPa. The mass flow rate through the cycle is 25kg/s. The moisture content of the steam at the turbing exit is not to exceed 10%. Determine the minimum turbine inlet temperature...

I have a project for a class of mine that asks me to design a rankine cycle to produce electricity from a lake using temperature differences between the water and the atmosphere.
I have a budget that I must stick with ($40,000), a defined effeciency for the pump (50%)...
i need some link or help or maybe some comments on different methods of drip disposal in a gas power cycle(rankine cycle).:confused::confused:quite honestly , i was sleeping:zzz::zzz: in the class, so i didnt get anything:shy::shy:.
geez i don't even know what drip disposal is?? can anyone...
I have a solar heat source that will deliver between 80 and 120C temperatures. I want to power a steam engine with this heat but obviously, when the source is below 100C I won't get any power generated. I have considered instead of using water in the steam engine, ethanol. On the output side...

Can anyone help with this particular question
Using a steam power plant that operates on a simple rankine cycle and has a net power output of 45MW. Steam enters the turbine at 70 bar and 500 degrees c and is cooled in the condenser at a pressure of 110kPa by running...
I am working on a project to design an organic Rankine cycle to convert low temperature thermal energy (waste heat or geothermal) into electrical energy. We are trying to select an expander to extract work from the pressure differential in the refrigerant. The refrigerant (ammonia or R134a)...
