In summary, the conversation discusses the levelling work shown in photos 391, 392-394, and the adjustment of correction. In photo 391, the levelling work is back to the same point, TBM1, and the adjustment of correction is determined by (Bs-Fs)/number of points. However, in photos 392-394, the levelling work is from a known point to a different point, and the author is questioning if the adjustment is correct. They mention the formula adjustment = end closure / number of TP, and point out that there are only 2 TP in the table, so they are unsure why the author divided by 3 for the case in 392-394. The question remains

Homework Statement

in photo 391 , we can see that the levelling work is back to the same point , which is TBM1 . so , the adjustment of correction is (Bs -Fs ) / number of points ... But in 392-394 , the levelling work is from a known point to a different point ...
I'm wondering that is the adjustment correct ? It's given that adjustment = end closure / number of TP ...

Homework Equations

The Attempt at a Solution

FAQ: Adjustment in levelling for same point vs unknown point

1. What is the purpose of adjusting the leveling for the same point vs unknown point?

Adjustment in leveling for same point vs unknown point is necessary to ensure accuracy and reduce errors in the leveling process. It involves comparing the measured elevations of two points and correcting any discrepancies.

2. What is the difference between adjusting for the same point vs an unknown point?

Adjustment for the same point involves comparing the elevations of the same point measured at different times or by different methods, while adjustment for an unknown point involves comparing the elevations of two different points.

3. How is adjustment for the same point vs unknown point carried out?

The adjustment process involves calculating the mean elevation of the two points and then calculating the difference between the measured elevations and the mean elevation. This difference is then applied as a correction to the measured elevations to obtain a more accurate result.

4. What are some factors that can affect the accuracy of adjustment in leveling?

The accuracy of adjustment in leveling can be affected by factors such as instrument error, improper leveling techniques, atmospheric conditions, and human error.

5. Why is it important to perform adjustment in leveling?

Adjustment in leveling is important because it helps to eliminate errors and ensure accuracy in elevation measurements. This is crucial when using leveling for tasks such as construction, mapping, and land surveying.
