Aero Eng. & Math: Exploring Courses for Fall Semester

In summary, the speaker plans to major in aerospace engineering and mathematics and will be taking courses in Object-Oriented Programming, Calculus/Analytic Geometry I, and General Physics I during the fall semester. They are also interested in taking courses that will improve their math skills and have received recommendations for courses such as logic, vector analysis, differential equations, numerical methods/analysis, and programming. They will consult with their school counselor about when they can take these courses.

I want to major in aero. engineering and mathematics. Over fall semester I will be taking Object-Oriented Programming, Calc/Analytic Geom I, and General Physics I lecture and lab.

I really enjoy math and want to take any courses that will improve my math skills that is why I am taking a programming class because I know it deals a lot with logic.
Are there any other classes that someone can suggest? maybe a logic course?...

From what I have heard from an aero graduate, there's loooots of calc 3. If your school offers any vector analysis courses, then that would certainly be useful. Also, if not required, take courses in differential equations. Numerical methods/analysis and rogramming will be very useful too I would think.

Thank you for the reply. I will look into those courses. I think I might have to wait a couple of semesters before I can actually take those classes though but Ill ask my school counselor.
thank you.

FAQ: Aero Eng. & Math: Exploring Courses for Fall Semester

1. What is aero engineering?

Aero engineering is a branch of engineering that focuses on the design, development, and construction of aircraft and spacecraft. It involves the application of principles from physics, mathematics, and materials science to create efficient and safe flying machines.

2. What courses are typically included in an aero engineering program?

Courses in an aero engineering program may include aerodynamics, propulsion, materials and structures, control systems, and avionics. Other common courses may cover topics such as aircraft design, flight mechanics, and aerospace systems.

3. What math skills are needed for aero engineering?

Aero engineering heavily relies on mathematics, particularly calculus, differential equations, and linear algebra. These mathematical concepts are used to understand and solve problems related to aerodynamics, propulsion, and control systems in aircraft and spacecraft.

4. Are there any prerequisites for these courses?

Prerequisites for aero engineering courses may vary depending on the specific program and institution. However, most programs will require a strong foundation in math and physics, as well as some introductory engineering courses. It is important to check with your specific program for their specific prerequisites.

5. What career opportunities are available for aero engineering graduates?

Aero engineering graduates have a wide range of career opportunities, including positions in aerospace companies, government agencies, and research institutions. They may work as design engineers, project managers, or research and development specialists in fields such as aircraft design, propulsion systems, or aviation safety.
