any way to study astrophysics after +2?

I am doing my +2 in coimbatore <tamil nadu>.
i am being suggested by my parents to do b.tech/b.e in Mechanical or equivalent
but i have a die hard interest in space science. i need guidance...BADLY ...
Pls tell me is there a ug course in space science(theoretical physics probably)..
if not,pls tell me what other way i have in building up a career in theoretical astrophysics..
I can go anywhere in India to study but NOT abroad;So please suggest me the course and the institution from where i can do that course
