Anyone Keep Getting Census Stuff After Responding Already?

In summary, despite filling out the census online weeks ago, the conversation participants have been receiving requests by mail to complete it again. This has resulted in frustration and confusion, with some wondering if there is a delay in government processing or if they should be concerned. Similar experiences have been shared, with some suggesting to contact the number on the mail and clarify that the census was already completed online. However, some have not received any further notices after submitting the form online.

My household filled out the Census stuff online weeks ago.

We've been getting requests to complete it by mail, saying we haven't filled it out yet.

Massive lag in government processing of this stuff? Or, should we be worried?

We had this happen to us (in NZ). I rang the number and said we filled it out online. They said 'okay, no problems.' Then a few weeks later they mailed us again asking us to fill forms out. Again I rang and said 'look, we've already been in touch - we've filled out the census online so LEAVE US ALONE plane @ simple sort of thing'. They soon stopped bothering us.

Maybe ring the number in the mail and clarify you've filled it out online.

I filled out our census form online a few days before the April 1 deadline. Haven’t gotten any notices since then.

FAQ: Anyone Keep Getting Census Stuff After Responding Already?

Why do I keep receiving census materials even though I already responded?

There could be a few reasons for this. Firstly, it's possible that your response was not received or processed properly. It's always a good idea to double-check your response was submitted correctly. Additionally, the census bureau may send out reminder materials to ensure everyone has the opportunity to respond. If you receive multiple reminders after responding, it's possible that your response was not properly recorded.

Can I ignore the census materials if I've already responded?

While it may be tempting to ignore the materials, it's important to note that the census is a crucial data collection tool for the government. Even if you've already responded, it's possible that your response was not recorded or there may be discrepancies that need to be corrected. It's best to follow up and ensure your response was properly received.

Do I need to respond to every single census material I receive?

Yes, it's important to respond to all census materials you receive. This includes any follow-up materials or reminders. Responding to the census only once is not enough, as discrepancies or errors may occur. It's best to respond to all materials to ensure your information is accurately recorded.

How can I stop receiving census materials after I've responded?

If you continue to receive census materials after responding, it's possible that your response was not properly recorded. The best course of action is to contact the census bureau and confirm that your response was received. They may also be able to remove you from any further mailings.

Is there a deadline for responding to the census?

Yes, there is a deadline for responding to the census. The deadline may vary depending on your location and the type of census material you receive. It's important to respond as soon as possible to ensure your information is accurately recorded and to avoid any potential penalties for not responding in a timely manner.
