Homework Statement
The real world is "real" and not "imaginary", what does this imply?
1. wave functions are real quantities
2. expectation values are real quantities
3. operators are real
4. Ψ* = Ψ, where Ψ denotes a wave function
5. energy levels are real
6. wave functions cannot have an imaginary component
Homework Equations
The Attempt at a Solution
I'm pretty sure 4, 5 and 2 are correct, energy levels are essentially expectation values and I'm pretty sure that is real, 3 and 1 are wrong, operators don't have a meaning by themselves, and waves aren't quantities, and not sure about 6, I believe there are actually some values with imaginary parts that still correspond to the real world.. but I might be wrong
