In summary, the speaker has developed two types of wasps, Muscidifurax raptor and Spalangia cameroni, but is now facing a problem with Spider Mites. They are seeking help on how to kill the mites without harming the wasps and if there is a way to prevent infestation. They have been advised to post their question in the Biology forum for a better response.

hi all i develop two types of wasps:
1)Muscidifurax raptor
2)Spalangia cameroni
and now i have a real problem with Spider Mites(Phytoseiidae).
i see them mostly after 3-5 days after the wasps emerge from the fly pupa.
so there is any possibility to kill the Spider Mites but not to harm the wasps?
maybe to do something when the new wasps are inside the pupa?

also there is any good way to try to avoid from the Spider Mites?

i really need some help here.

thanks.

It seems to me you would be more likely to get an answer if you put the question is a MUCH more appropriate place in the forum. Specifically, instead of burying it in the homework section of "other sciences", put it in BIOLOGY where it likely belongs.

well "other sciences" including also Biology.

i not found here specific forum about Biology.

thanks.

I understand your concern about controlling spider mites without harming your wasp predators. It is important to find a solution that effectively controls the spider mites while also preserving the natural balance of your ecosystem.

One possible solution is to use biological control methods. This involves using natural enemies, such as your wasp predators, to control the population of spider mites. You can also introduce other natural enemies of spider mites, such as ladybugs or predatory mites, to help keep their population in check.

Another option is to use cultural control methods, such as regularly removing any plant debris or weeds where spider mites may thrive. This can help reduce their population and make it easier for your wasps to control them.

In terms of avoiding spider mites in the first place, it is important to maintain a healthy and diverse garden. This can help attract beneficial insects, like your wasp predators, that can naturally control pests like spider mites. Additionally, practicing good hygiene and regularly inspecting your plants for signs of infestation can help prevent spider mites from getting out of control.

It is also worth considering the timing of your wasp releases. If you are noticing a pattern of spider mite infestations occurring a few days after the wasps emerge, it may be beneficial to release them earlier in the life cycle of the fly pupa. This can give them a head start in controlling the spider mites before they become a problem.

In summary, there are several options for controlling spider mites without harming your wasp predators. It may require a combination of methods, such as biological and cultural control, as well as careful timing of wasp releases. It is important to continue monitoring and adjusting your approach as needed to maintain a healthy and balanced ecosystem.
