    Test
In summary, someone claimed that looking at a person's wrists was the easiest way to tell whether that person was male or female. So, I made a test. It ended up being harder than expected - there's a severe shortage on the net of close-ups of people's wrists online - so the test didn't turn out as nicely as I'd hoped. However, it's really just for fun. Anyway, the results are as follows:1: Female2: Male3: Male4: Female5: Male6: Male7: Female8: Female9: Male10: Neither, it is a painting. I guess you could say it resembles what god's wrist

Does each wrist belong to a male or female?

I'll post the answers after arildno has taken the test.

Dumb freakish female body-builder.
However:
Nr 2 was a very salivational picture. Thank you!
Now, when do I get my reward gallery?

I would probably gotten 1) wrong, 4,6,7 right, but I was too unsure of them to continue.

Congratulations, you win a banana! There's another prize, but you wouldn't be interested. :blushing:

I got one wrong, #1. Number 5 had me seriously confused though. I thought originally male, but seeing that little bit to the left in the picture made me go female. After seeing the picture I now see why the confusion.

I had no idea about the whole wrist thing.

7 out of 10. Not too bad I reckon, but I should still avoid drag cabaret club nights for the time being.

I can't find pictures online. Looks like I'll have to grab my camera and find some real subjects. This may take a while, hopefully.

Don't just take the first ones you can lay your hands on, I want prime specimens.

Well, to be honest, I didn't look. I'd like to get my hands dirty on this one.
Don't just take the first ones you can lay your hands on, I want prime specimens.
Well, I'll try for the first 6 primes, but I don't know if I can handle the 7th. Eek.

Yes, 13 (6th prime) ought to be a sufficient pool to choose from.
It's your birthday tomorrow, right?

So, I'll assume the test is ready on Monday..

Oh, I was speaking of inches. I forgot that some of you guys use that silly, logical metric system over there, so it may not have been so obvious.

Yes, I'll be 51. Monday? I'd better get started then.

And yes, Tom Cruise is airbrushed, but they ran out of paint before they got to the brain... it's just air.

Here are my guesses.

1: Female
2: Male
3: Male
4: Female
5: Male
6: Male
7: Female
8: Female
9: Female
10: Neither, it is a painting. I guess you could say it resembles what god's wrist would look like in the eyes of michelangelo

edit... Yeah I was off a bit

I don't know if wrists are all that great to go by. There are plenty of women with masculine looking hands and plenty of males with feminine hands. Is it a proportion thing?
I can generally tell by the face alone. Oddly the men that I see that have extremely feminine facial features are usually straight and the men I see that dress in drag rarely look all that feminine. Second is hips and legs. There are very few men who have hips that can match a womans unless they look like a waif. Though there are women who have hips that can match a mans.

Yes! I knew #1 was female!

  • #21
I got them all except that I mistook Tom Cruise and Ashton Kutcher for women and Lucy Lawless for a man. Sounds about right.

By the way, the basketball player is Wally Szczerbiak, of the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves.

51 going on 23?

Don't suppose you have his address too? It's for a science-like experiment. o:)

They say you're only as old as you feel, so I'm trying to reach retirement before I hit 30.

Nope, sorry. But forget about him, he's nothing special. The guy you should really be setting your sights on is ex-NBA hunk Popeye Jones:

I said it was one of the best ways to distinguish a man in drag from a woman.
With clever make-up, the drag artist's face can be extremely difficult to recognize as a man's.
Furthermore, by choosing an appropriate dress, the typical differences between male and female butts, hips&legs can also be concealed.
A male foot is generally very different from a female's, but shoes can take care of that.

What remains therefore by which you may make a correct identification is the hand and the wrist..

"The experiment"? That sounds nefarious.

As for Popeye:

Got the nickname "Popeye" from his brother David, who was watching the "Popeye" cartoon show on TV when their mother brought him home from the hospital as a newborn

I think if we want clarity, we're going to need one of those tranvestites.

Well, if all else fails, there's always the Crocodile Dundee technique.

Few of them do, and those who do, may cover the fingers well, but the wrist will often remain the last tell-tale sign.

And if they wear a cup?! Oh, I guess women don't usually wear cups...

I wonder if the codpiece will ever come back into fashion.
