I am trying to desing a breadmaker, all parameters are known. To determine and define the sizes of shafts, belts, screws, electric motor and so on, I have to choose an electric motor. So, on choosing electric motor, it is well known two requirements are needed;torque and rpm. I don't have any problem on rpm, but I don't know how to determine required torque. All parameters such as size of kneading appliance and pan, density of dough, temperature are known, but I couldn't make them together to determine required torque. Is there anybody to show the path I have to follow?

To determine the required torque, you need to consider the total weight of the dough and the kneading appliance, as well as any other forces that may be applied to the motor. You also need to take into account the speed at which you want the motor to operate, as this will affect the amount of torque needed. You can then use a torque calculation tool, or consult with an electric motor specialist, to determine the necessary torque to power the breadmaker.

FAQ: Choosing proper electric motor to knead dough

What is the purpose of choosing the proper electric motor for kneading dough?

The purpose of choosing the proper electric motor for kneading dough is to ensure that the motor has enough power and torque to handle the heavy and continuous mixing required for kneading dough. This will result in a well-mixed and evenly textured dough.

What factors should be considered when choosing an electric motor for kneading dough?

When choosing an electric motor for kneading dough, factors such as power, torque, speed, and durability should be taken into account. The motor should also be able to handle the specific type and amount of dough being kneaded.

What type of electric motor is best for kneading dough?

The best type of electric motor for kneading dough is a high-powered and high-torque motor, such as a heavy-duty AC or DC motor. These types of motors are designed to handle heavy loads and provide consistent and reliable performance for prolonged periods of time.

Can any electric motor be used for kneading dough?

No, not all electric motors are suitable for kneading dough. Motors with low power and torque may not be able to handle the demands of kneading dough and may result in uneven mixing or motor failure. It is important to choose a motor specifically designed for heavy-duty mixing tasks.

Are there any safety precautions to consider when using an electric motor for kneading dough?

Yes, it is important to follow all safety precautions outlined by the manufacturer when using an electric motor for kneading dough. This may include proper grounding, avoiding overheating, and proper maintenance. It is also important to use the motor in a well-ventilated area and to never leave it unattended while in use.
