Hello everyone.
Am working three-phase PMSM using Ansys Maxwell and Simplorer. I created the design iin2D Maxwell and trying to co-simulate with Simplorer. Simulation completed with execution error. I would be very grateful if anybody can kindly let me know to resolve this issue.

There are several possible causes for an execution error in a co-simulation setup between Ansys Maxwell and Simplorer. To troubleshoot the issue, we recommend that you check the following:

1. Make sure the version of Ansys Maxwell and Simplorer you are using are compatible.
2. Check that the model parameters, such as flux linkage, are correctly set in the Ansys Maxwell simulation.
3. Ensure the electrical and mechanical ports are properly connected between the tools.
4. Make sure the control signals from Simplorer are properly connected to the Ansys Maxwell model.
5. Check the scaling and range of the signals to make sure they are within the expected range.
6. Verify that the time step setting is appropriate for the simulation.
7. Make sure the electrical and mechanical parameters are consistent between the two tools.
8. Ensure the PMSM model parameters are correct.
9. Check the accuracy of the switching and timing of the control signals.

If you are still unable to resolve the issue, you may need to contact Ansys or Simplorer technical support for further assistance.

FAQ: Co-Simulation of PMSM using ANSYS MAXWELL and Simplorer

What is co-simulation and why is it important in PMSM analysis?

Co-simulation refers to the process of combining two or more simulation software tools to analyze a complex system. In the case of PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) analysis, co-simulation is essential because it allows for the simulation of both the electromagnetic and control aspects of the motor, providing a more accurate and comprehensive analysis.

How does ANSYS MAXWELL and Simplorer work together in co-simulation of PMSM?

ANSYS MAXWELL is used to simulate the electromagnetic behavior of the PMSM, while Simplorer is used to simulate the control system. The two software tools are connected through an interface, allowing for data exchange and co-simulation. Simplorer sends control signals to ANSYS MAXWELL, and the electromagnetic data is sent back to Simplorer for analysis.

What are the benefits of using ANSYS MAXWELL and Simplorer for co-simulation of PMSM?

Some of the key benefits include a more accurate and comprehensive analysis of the PMSM, as well as a faster simulation process. Using co-simulation also allows for the optimization of the motor design and control parameters, leading to improved performance and efficiency.

Are there any limitations to co-simulation of PMSM using ANSYS MAXWELL and Simplorer?

One limitation is that the accuracy of the simulation results depends on the accuracy of the models used in both software tools. Additionally, the co-simulation process may require more computational resources and time compared to using a single software tool.

Can co-simulation of PMSM using ANSYS MAXWELL and Simplorer be used for different types of motors?

Yes, the co-simulation process can be applied to different types of motors, such as brushless DC motors and induction motors. However, the specific models and parameters may need to be adjusted accordingly for accurate results.
