Confused about moveing through time

In summary, time travel, especially in the reverse direction, is a questionable concept that is often used in science fiction. It is not possible in reality and is simply a mathematical tool to understand systems. Therefore, speculating about the consequences of going back in time is irrelevant.

I was reading about worm holes and stuff like that, and I don’t get it. What dose going back in time really mean? If it just changes the time, how dose that all of the sudden give you the power to... kill your grandfather and create the Grandfather paradox, or walk around in the past... It wouldn’t be all that fantastic really; you couldn’t even tell that you went back in time. So I’m just a bit confused as to what happens in a “you move to a different time” scenario, like a wormhole :(sorry about spelling)
I hop this is the right place to post this?

Time travel ( except in the forward direction) is a dubious idea so one shouldn't take it too seriously. It does provide lots of good storylines for SF writers, though.

It's just plain, old, not possible and not true. There is no use speculating over how "reverse time travel" works because such a thing is fiction.

time is a mathematical invention to understand the dynamics of a system..nothing more.

FAQ: Confused about moveing through time

What is time travel?

Time travel is a concept that refers to the ability to move through time, either backwards or forwards, in a way that is different from the normal perception of time passing.

Is time travel possible?

Currently, there is no scientific evidence that proves time travel is possible. However, some theoretical models, such as the theory of relativity, suggest that time travel may be possible under certain conditions.

How does time travel work?

The concept of time travel is still largely theoretical and there is no universally accepted explanation for how it would work. Some theories suggest that it could involve manipulating the fabric of space-time, while others propose the use of wormholes or black holes to travel through time.

Can we physically move through time?

At present, there is no known way to physically move through time. While some theories suggest that time travel may be possible, they also propose that it would require advanced technology and energy far beyond our current capabilities.

What are the potential consequences of time travel?

If time travel were possible, there could be potential consequences such as paradoxes, changes to the timeline, and altering the course of history. It is also possible that time travel could have unforeseen effects on the fabric of space-time itself.
