In summary, the conversation discusses reducing the completion time of a project by 4 days and using the crash time method to determine the reduction time for each activity. However, Activity B is not on the critical path and may require a different reduction time. The suggestion is to reevaluate the critical path and determine the impact of reducing Activity B on the overall project completion time.

By how many days should each activity be reduced the project completion time by 4 days? I have all the parts right except for part B. I thought it was 2 but it's not. What I did was subtract normal time from crash time and it worked for all the problems except B. Here's a link to the table. Any ideas?

Hi there,

It seems like you are working on a project and trying to reduce the completion time by 4 days. From what you have described, it sounds like you are using the crash time method to determine the amount of time each activity should be reduced by.

In order to accurately determine the reduction time for each activity, you will need to consider the critical path of your project. The critical path is the longest sequence of activities that must be completed in order to finish the project on time. Any delay in the critical path will result in a delay in the overall project completion time.

In your table, Activity B is not on the critical path, which means that reducing its time will not have a direct impact on the overall project completion time. Therefore, the reduction time for Activity B may be different from the other activities.

I would suggest reevaluating the critical path and determining the impact of reducing Activity B on the overall project completion time. This will help you determine the correct reduction time for Activity B.

I hope this helps. Good luck with your project!
