A recent campaign titled "Time To Quit Facebook" has emerged following the revelation that personal details of Facebook users were collected and published online in a downloadable file. This incident raises concerns about user privacy and data security. Facebook has defended its actions by likening its platform to a phone book, suggesting that many users join to be found by others. The company asserts that it provides various controls for users who wish to limit their visibility and data sharing. Despite these assurances, the controversy has prompted discussions about whether current users will reconsider their engagement with the platform and whether non-users will be deterred from joining. The debate centers around the balance between public information and user privacy.
