I am looking into developing a hybrid buggy and have a question plaugeing my mind. Can you use an electric motor as a generator as well? Theoretically I assume so, but rpm is essentiall for charging, or at least efficient charging.
Basically can you drive the vehicle on gas while the electric motor chargers the batteries and when needed shut off the IC engine and turn on electric motor. I believe it's feasible, but what constraints am I looking at?
Also does anyone know of a good source for finding electric motors and batteries for such projects? Thinking approx 80 hp and a lot of torque.
