can anyone tell me what parts of the digestive secretion have high basic pHs of 8-9.0...and they gradually increase in effectiveness for certain jobs
The normal range for digestive secretion pH is between 8 and 9.0.
A pH of 8-9.0 in the digestive system is considered alkaline and has several effects. It helps to neutralize stomach acid, aids in the breakdown and absorption of nutrients, and promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria.
The body maintains a pH of 8-9.0 in the digestive system through the secretion of bicarbonate ions and enzymes by the pancreas and liver. These substances help to buffer and regulate the pH level in the digestive tract.
A deviation from the normal pH range in digestive secretions can be caused by various factors such as diet, medications, and medical conditions. Certain foods and drinks, like acidic fruits and alcohol, can lower the pH level, while medications and conditions like acid reflux can increase it.
A pH of 8-9.0 in the digestive system is considered normal and does not typically have any negative health consequences. However, if the pH level becomes too high or too low, it can disrupt the digestive process and lead to digestive issues such as indigestion, acid reflux, or nutrient deficiencies.
