I'm pretty sure quite a number of you would have noticed it already; the automated post titles prefixes a "Re: " to every quick reply or normal reply. Is this supposed to happen? How do I disable it if it's a new feature?

Almost exactly at midnight EST. I'm not crazy about it either.Moonbear said:It just showed up yesterday as far as I can tell (older posts don't have it).
I have no idea. Greg's still working on tinkering with the new version of the software, so may be pushing buttons to find out what they do and if people like or dislike the features. Or, it may be like some of the other quirks we're finding that just started appearing with no easy fix (like contributor posts in this forum getting bumped into a moderation queue). We'll have to wait for Greg to tell us more when he's not busy fixing bigger bugs.Defennder said:So is it here to stay?
For me, it's an "I can take it or leave it" kind of thing. I don't see any benefit, and while the first appearances caught my attention, I'm quickly learning to just ignore it (the downside is that when someone does put a new title on a post for a reason, I think I'm also not noticing those). To me, it's not worth the extra steps of removing it.Just a quick note: The automatic post titles can be removed or renamed, but having to do that each time we reply is quite bothersome.
Exactly; Greg's pretty busy at the moment.Moonbear said:We'll have to wait for Greg to tell us more when he's not busy fixing bigger bugs.
Same here. It really makes no difference to me!For me, it's an "I can take it or leave it" kind of thing.
Disabling automatic post titles allows users to have more control over the title of their posts and can help improve the overall organization and clarity of their content.
To disable automatic post titles, users can typically go to their website's settings or preferences and look for an option to turn off automatic titles. Depending on the platform, there may also be a specific plugin or code snippet that can be used.
This depends on the specific platform and how it handles post titles. Some platforms may automatically generate SEO-friendly titles, while others may allow users to manually enter SEO-optimized titles. It's important to research the specific effects on SEO for your website before disabling automatic post titles.
Yes, users can still have post titles even if automatic titles are disabled. They can manually enter the desired title for each post or use a plugin to automatically generate titles based on the content of the post.
Aside from giving users more control over their post titles, disabling automatic titles can also help reduce the risk of duplicate titles and improve the overall user experience by ensuring each post has a unique and relevant title.
