In summary, the conversation is about a person seeking help in understanding how to dismember a frame and create a free body diagram for a specific member. They are also discussing how to solve for the vertical component of the reaction at point B by taking the sum of moments about point A. The overall goal is to solve for a specific force in the problem.

Can someone help me dismembering the frame!

im confused how to make them on for example ABC

http://img257.imageshack.us/img257/5813/68420741vn8.jpg

IS that right? i made AG without x and y cause i gues we know it is along member ag since AG is a two force member?

Can someone check if that is right!

and IF IT IS RIGHT, can i just take moment about point A so everything cancels out except force at C and Y component of B?

can I do that?? to find By?

Your free body diagram of member ABC is correct. AG is a two-force member so you automatically know the direction in which the force is applied. Taking the sum of moments about point A must be zero and thus you could solve for the vertical component of the reaction at B, correct.

What is the overall goal of this problem? As in, what force are you trying to solve for?

I would suggest that it is important to clarify what is meant by "dismembering frames." In structural engineering, dismembering a frame refers to the process of breaking down a frame structure into smaller, more manageable components for analysis. It is an important step in structural analysis and design.

Regarding the provided images, it appears that the individual is trying to analyze a frame structure and is unsure of how to approach it. It is important to understand the forces and moments acting on the frame in order to accurately analyze it. The first step would be to identify all the members and their orientations, as well as the external forces and moments acting on the frame.

In the second image, it seems that the individual has correctly identified member AG as a two-force member. However, it is important to also consider the reactions at points A and B in order to accurately analyze the frame. Taking moments about point A to find the force at point C and the Y component of force at point B may be a valid approach, but it is important to double check the calculations and ensure that all forces and moments are properly accounted for.

In conclusion, dismembering a frame is an essential step in analyzing and designing structures. It is important to have a clear understanding of the forces and moments acting on the frame in order to accurately analyze and design it. Taking moments about a specific point can be a valid approach, but it is important to double check calculations and consider all forces and reactions in order to ensure accuracy.

FAQ: Dismembering Frames: Check if Right & Find By

What is the purpose of "Dismembering Frames: Check if Right & Find By"?

The purpose of "Dismembering Frames: Check if Right & Find By" is to check if a given frame is right and to identify the frame by its specific properties, such as size, shape, or material. This process is often used in forensic science to analyze skeletal remains or in engineering to determine the structural integrity of a frame.

How do you determine if a frame is right?

The rightness of a frame can be determined by examining its angles and measurements. If the angles are all 90 degrees and the sides are equal in length, then the frame is considered "right". This can also be confirmed by using mathematical calculations, such as the Pythagorean theorem, to ensure that the sides and angles match up.

What is the significance of dismembering frames in forensic science?

Dismembering frames in forensic science is significant because it allows investigators to analyze and identify skeletal remains. By examining the bones and their specific properties, such as size and shape, forensic scientists can determine important information about the victim, such as gender, age, and cause of death.

Are there any limitations to using "Dismembering Frames: Check if Right & Find By"?

One limitation of using "Dismembering Frames: Check if Right & Find By" is that it relies on the assumption that the frame was originally constructed correctly. If the frame was not built to standard measurements or if it has been altered over time, it may not be possible to accurately determine its rightness or identify it using this method.

How does "Dismembering Frames: Check if Right & Find By" differ from other methods of frame analysis?

"Dismembering Frames: Check if Right & Find By" is a specific method that focuses on the rightness and identification of frames. Other methods of frame analysis may involve testing for structural integrity, determining load-bearing capacity, or examining the materials used. These methods may be more appropriate for different purposes, such as engineering or construction, while "Dismembering Frames: Check if Right & Find By" is specifically designed for forensic and analytical purposes.
