I'm trying to learn about electric motors, and I would eventually like to learn about how the maglev trains work beyond the general descriptions. I have found these two books so far:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/0750647183/?tag=pfamazon01-20 by Austin Hughes
https://www.amazon.com/dp/0750636386/?tag=pfamazon01-20 by Irving Gottlieb
Has anybody read or used these? Does anybody have any other suggestions on how to go about learning this material?
I know it will be useful to know some electricity and magnetism, but I know where to find that material and have a plan to increase my knowledge in that field. I want some practical knowledge though, and I would eventually like to build my own model maglev type system. Thanks for the help.
