In summary, formaldehyde is a toxic chemical commonly used in cat urine cleanup products that can pose serious health risks to both humans and pets. It is important to take precautions when using these products and consider alternative, natural options such as vinegar or enzyme-based cleaners. Proper ventilation and protective gear are also recommended when handling formaldehyde-containing products.

Having burning lips, eyes, lung and sinus infections and worsening Asthma.
The issue is cat urine in large amts on
Laminate floors, possibly Chinese ( formaldehyde), being wiped up with many paper towels, then using Clorox or Lysol wipes... cat is 20+ and 4 lbs- a change
In past 3 mos. I think its renal failure,
but she is otherwise happy and active.
Have read all chlorox/ cat urine posts-
Pls advise on the addition of formaldehyde to the chemical composition. Thank you very much.

In 2011, the US National Toxicology Program listed formaldehyde as a known human carcinogen. It is not something you would want to introduce to the air in your home.

This is also member introductions only, no questions. I suggest that you purchase a non-toxic enzyme based urine neutralizer for the floor. Also, take your cat to the vet, why are you asking us if you think your cat has renal failure? Thread closed.
