I didn't even know this was going on. The FTC declared a winner in April for its FTC Robocall Challenge deal with the problem of illegal Robo calls. The winner will be going live soon and it will be free. They even have a easy to remember name - NoMoRobo. Although I am waiting to see how successful it will be, I am cautiously optimistic.

And, for anyone that might suggest it, I don't care if the calls are being redirected to the NSA. If it stops these people, I'll gladly let the NSA track my calls. :-p

NoMoRobo declares them to be terrorists (because they might be in the future) and sends a drone to the company's hq. Will be reported to be a gas leak.

What is the FTC Robocall Challenge?

The FTC Robocall Challenge was a competition launched by the Federal Trade Commission in 2012 to encourage individuals and organizations to create innovative solutions to block illegal robocalls.

Who won the FTC Robocall Challenge and what was their solution?

When will NoMoRobo be available for use?

NoMoRobo is expected to go live soon, but an exact date has not been announced yet. The FTC is currently working with NoMoRobo to make sure their solution meets all necessary requirements before it is made available to the public.

Will NoMoRobo be free to use?

How will NoMoRobo impact the issue of robocalls?

NoMoRobo has the potential to greatly reduce the number of illegal robocalls received by consumers.
