In summary, the conversation discusses a kid who is considered a genius for hacking his Wii. The topic is also being discussed on a forum and there is a video that some are unable to watch due to not having highspeed internet. There is speculation that the Wii will release a commercial version of the hack and someone suggests hacking it for arm and leg movement. The conversation also mentions a website for Johnny Chung Lee's Wii projects, which mainly involve using the Wiimote in different ways with a PC via Bluetooth.

Seeing as I don't have highspeed, I couldn't watch the vid. I'm guessing its a kid who hacked his wii. Well, soon enough the Nintendo guys will prolly release a commercial version. I mean it only makes sense. I'd hack it to have arm and leg movement, but that'd mean rewriting the programming of each game.

Here's the website for Johnny Chung Lee's Wii projects:
http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/projects/wii/ (see also: http://www.wiimoteproject.com/ )

Most of what he did does not involve hacking the Wii...
instead, he just uses the Wiimote in different ways with a PC via Bluetooth.

FAQ: Have you seen Johnny Chung Lee's incredible Wii projects?

What is headtracking for the Wii?

Headtracking for the Wii is a technology that allows users to control their Wii games using their head movements, rather than traditional button inputs.

How does headtracking work on the Wii?

Headtracking on the Wii uses the Wii Remote's infrared camera to track the movements of the player's head. The camera detects the position of infrared lights on the player's head, allowing the Wii to calculate the head's movement in 3D space.

Can headtracking be used in all Wii games?

No, headtracking can only be used in games that are specifically designed to support this technology. Not all Wii games have headtracking capabilities.

Do I need any additional equipment for headtracking on the Wii?

Yes, in order to use headtracking on the Wii, you will need a Wii Remote, a Wii Sensor Bar, and a head tracking device, such as a head-mounted infrared sensor or a clip-on sensor.

Are there any limitations to headtracking on the Wii?

Yes, headtracking on the Wii has some limitations. It may not work well in low light or bright light conditions, and it may not be as precise as traditional button inputs. Additionally, it may not be suitable for all players, as it requires the ability to move one's head comfortably and accurately.
