Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum. I'm planning to build an alternator/generator but I can't seem to information regarding the benefits of the height/length of the teeth in the stator core as indicated by the arrow in the picture below [1]. I know the width of the teeth determine flux density and the gap between the teeth determine wire size and number of wire wounds.
Could someone please tell me the difference between say 1 inch vs 2 inch height/length of the teeth? All I could find from google is patent applications regarding various winding techniques and iron loss from varnishing.
Thanks,
/mib
