In summary, Aluminium 6061-T6 Extrusion is a heat-treated aluminum alloy known for its strength, lightweight, and corrosion-resistant properties. It is commonly used in various industries such as aircraft, automotive, and construction. The manufacturing process involves solution heat treatment and artificial aging. Some advantages of using this alloy include its high strength-to-weight ratio, good machinability, and malleability. However, it may not be suitable for high fatigue or high temperature applications, and it is not recommended for use in acidic environments.

Hello,

Can anybody help me for below problem?

We have done extrusion of 6061 material and we achieve T6 hardness after 8-10 hour edging process.

Now the problem is...when we have check mechanical properties of aluminium then it is not matching with T6 mechanical properties.

Can anyone help me how to achieve mechanical properties?

You are a PhD student, so you have access to an engineering library. Look for the ASM Metals Handbook set. They have an entire volume on heat treating nonferrous alloys.
