How Do Optics and Meta-Materials Influence Metal Deformation in Blacksmithing?

hey I'm david I'm a mechanical engineering student and i pursue metalsmithing and blacksmithing in my free time. I've been looking through this forum for some time. right now I am really interested in optics and meta-materials, as well as simulating deformations of sheet metal into complex forms. cheers
