In the circuit above, use R1 = 4Ω, R2 = 3Ω, V0 = 10V, and k = 1/5
Find the value of ix
Find the power delivered by the dependent source
2. The attempt at a solution
So what I assumed was that Ix+kIa=Ia so k=1/5 so Ix=(4/5)Ia then the equation for Ix would be
Ix + 4Ix - 3Ix + 10=0 which solves Ix=2 A, the correct answer is 1.25 A but I can't get that.
Once I get Ix I can solve for the power by using
kIa/4 + V/4 + V/3 +10/3 = 0 then -V*kIa=the power
Can someone please help
