In summary, the conversation is about finding Secretariat's average speed during each quarter-mile segment and his average acceleration for the entire race. The solution involves using the defining equations for average velocity and average acceleration, which can be found in a textbook or class lecture notes. The hint is to recall that horses in the Derby start from rest.

Hi all

Q :
Secretariat ran the Kentucky Derby with times for the quarter mile of 25.2 s , 24.0 s , 23.8 s , and 23.0 s .
(A) Find his average speed during each quarter-mile segment .
(B) Assming that Secretariat's instaneous speed at the finish line was the same as the average speed during the final quarter mile , fine his average acceleration for the entire race . ( Hint : recall that horeses in the Derby start from rest )

I want the idea to solve this queation

Use the defining equations for average velocity and average acceleration. The equations should be in your textbook or class lecture notes. You should have posted those equations to begin with!
