In summary, physics explains knitting and everyday phenomena through the principles of forces, energy, and motion. The act of knitting involves manipulating and interlocking fibers using forces, such as tension and friction. Everyday phenomena, such as the movement of objects, can be explained through Newton's laws of motion and the conservation of energy. Additionally, the properties of materials, such as elasticity and viscosity, play a role in understanding the behavior of knitted fabrics and other everyday objects. Overall, physics provides a fundamental understanding of the underlying mechanisms behind knitting and various everyday occurrences.

I am a knitter and is interested in using physics / scientific ways to explain the phenomenon we see in knitting, e.g., negative ease in ribbing. I also love to see how physics explain away daily simple things we see everyday as granted, e.g. why curtain moves towards into the tub when running a shower
