In summary, a new member with a basic background is someone who is new to a particular group or organization and has limited experience or knowledge in the field. They may require additional guidance and support as they become familiar with the group's goals and processes. However, their fresh perspective and enthusiasm can also bring new ideas and energy to the group. Overall, it is important for established members to be welcoming and patient with new members, while also providing opportunities for them to learn and contribute to the group.

Hello all, I'm currently researching the history of physics; how the field has evolved and grown; and curiously, how some concepts abandoned seem to regain favor in later years. I have basic undergrad knowledge with a bit of graduate work. Often just enough knowledge for me to realize there are questions I need to ask, but not enough experience to know what those questions are.
