In summary, energy in the human body is measured in calories and the main source of energy is glucose. The average human body has approximately 7 octillion joules of energy and uses it for various functions such as breathing, digestion, movement, and maintaining body temperature. To increase the amount of energy in the body, it is important to have a balanced diet, exercise regularly, get enough sleep, and manage stress levels.

Homework Statement

How much energy do I consist of given that I have a mass of 90kg?

Homework Equations

E=mc^2

The Attempt at a Solution

E=90x300,000,000^2
E=90x9x10^16
E=8.1 x10^18
E=8.1 thousand quadrillion Joules?

You do not “consist” of energy as energy is not a substance and furthermore not frame invariant. A more accurate question would be “how much mass-energy do I contain?” For that question you computation is fine.

FAQ: How much energy do I consist of?

1. How is energy measured in the human body?

Energy in the human body is measured in calories. One calorie is equal to the amount of energy needed to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 degree Celsius.

2. What is the main source of energy in the human body?

The main source of energy in the human body is glucose, which comes from the carbohydrates we consume in our diet. Glucose is converted into ATP (adenosine triphosphate) which is the main form of energy that our cells use.

3. How much energy does an average human body have?

The average human body has approximately 7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (7 octillion) joules of energy. This is equivalent to about 1,600,000,000,000,000,000 (1.6 quintillion) calories.

4. How does the body use energy?

The body uses energy for various functions such as breathing, digestion, movement, and maintaining body temperature. It also uses energy for cell growth, repair, and reproduction. Even when we are at rest, our body needs energy to perform these essential functions.

5. How can I increase the amount of energy in my body?

To increase the amount of energy in your body, it is important to maintain a balanced and nutritious diet that includes carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Regular exercise can also help increase energy levels by improving circulation and oxygen flow to the cells. Getting enough sleep and managing stress levels can also contribute to higher energy levels.
