Thanks, but this is a very recent thing; started two days ago.mathman said:Possible problem - browser and Win10 may have a problem working together.
Nothing attached that I see.WWGD said:Please see attached.
Sorry, let me try again.anorlunda said:Nothing attached that I see.
Please check again, Anorlunda, in my first post.anorlunda said:Nothing attached that I see.
Correct, it is not populated. I can view some options by clicking on the Windows icon, but not through the search bar. EDIT Certainly I did not change the scheme myself. But may the color scheme be changed for the search bar only? Rest of the operation does not have that problem.anorlunda said:OK, now it is attached to post #1. Not easy to read, but it appears that the help popup appears but it is not populated, correct?
Has anyone been playing with color schemes, or styles on that machine? Hackers sometimes put white on white or black on black to fool people.
You might be right. Are you running any AV software?WWGD said:It may be viruses infecting the computer I would say.
Yes, I run Avast. Yes, it was (I assume) a bad battery, I never got to test whether that was the case. Now the content of a folder in Gmail disappeared. It is just suddenly empty.Mark44 said:You might be right. Are you running any AV software?
Is this the same computer you were having problems with before? I forget what the problem was -- a bad battery?

From the first quote above, I assumed that you meant a folder or directory on your computer. The further clarification in the second quote might mean that it wasn't a folder (directory) on the computer itself. As far as I can tell, gmail doesn't store your mail folders on your computer, but instead is a client app that gives you a view of storage on a server somewhere. I have a gmail account, but am not able to find any files on my computer that are associated with gmail.WWGD said:Now the content of a folder in Gmail disappeared. It is just suddenly empty.
Have you tried shutting the computer down, and restarting it? Hopefully that is one of the first things you've tried.WWGD said:More Win10 fun. I cannot access any content in the Win10 help bar, on the lower left of the screen. I just get a blank. Please see attached.
Any Ideas?
Yes, that's the bread and butter in my repair menu.Mark44 said:Have you tried shutting the computer down, and restarting it? Hopefully that is one of the first things you've tried.
There could be several reasons for this issue. It could be due to a software glitch, outdated drivers, or a malfunctioning hardware component. It is also possible that the Help Bar has been disabled in the system settings.
First, try restarting your laptop and see if the Help Bar becomes accessible. If not, check the system settings to ensure that the Help Bar is enabled. You can also try updating your drivers and running a system scan for any software glitches. If the issue persists, it is recommended to contact technical support for further assistance.
Yes, it is possible to reinstall the Help Bar on your laptop. You can do so by going to the Control Panel and selecting "Uninstall a program." Look for the Help Bar in the list of installed programs and click on "Uninstall." Once it is uninstalled, you can download and reinstall the Help Bar from the official HP website.
Yes, it is possible that a hardware component, such as the keyboard or touchpad, may be malfunctioning and preventing you from accessing the Help Bar. In this case, it is recommended to get your laptop checked by a certified technician to identify and fix the hardware issue.
Yes, there are several alternative methods to access help on your laptop. You can use the built-in Windows Help and Support feature, search for help topics online, or use the "Ask me anything" feature in the Windows taskbar. You can also refer to the user manual or reach out to HP's customer support for assistance.
