Hulk's Abilities: Examining His Strength, Leaping, and Bullet Endurance

In summary, the conversation discusses a project on the abilities of the Hulk, specifically his ability to leap far, lift heavy objects, and withstand bullets. The speaker is using equations for acceleration and projectile motion to determine the plausibility of the Hulk's abilities. However, the idea of his changing mass goes against the laws of physics, making it difficult to fully explain his abilities using real physics.

This isn't homework per se as I'm not calculating anything but it is homework related. I'm doing a project on the abilities of the hulk. I'm examining whether or not his ability to leap far, strength, and ability to withstand bullets is plausible for his body type. I think I have strength and his ability to leap down, but I just don't know what I'm calculating in regards to his ability to withstand bullets.

And I hope the following are correct...

In order to calculate his ability to leap far, I believe I'm using the forumula for accelleration to see whether or not he can generate enough velocity to leap huge distances. Correct?

In order to test whether or not he can lift 100 tons I'm calculating the mass required to do so, and whether or not he can. Correct?

That would depend on how thick his skin was, for example, I remember seeing somewhere that the Hippopotamus is quite difficult to kill, as its hide is thick enough to stop low calibre bullets penetrating to any great depth.

And I hope the following are correct...

In the words of the classic joke (ish) you could consider a spherical Hulk, and see how much force his legs would need to exert to be able to jump the distance, by using the equations for projectile motion.

In order to test whether or not he can lift 100 tons I'm calculating the mass required to do so, and whether or not he can. Correct?

You could compare the force needed to lift a 100 ton(ne) mass against the Earth's gravitational field, and compare it to the amount of force a human can actually exert, e.g. compare it to say the world record for the largest mass lifted by a weightlifter.

In the most recent movie, they clearly showed his mass increase as he changed form. This is contrary to the laws of physics, so I would not hold out any hopes for his abilities to be explained using Newton's laws or other real physics.
