Humans have a big influence on the evolution process of many species. Do you think they should? Is this fair?
The answer is "religion" that holds that Reality is a transcendential ideal. In history, many peoples had religion based on objective Reality (nature). When one forms a philosophy that says objective Reality does not exist, then by definition nature does not exist, thus let us spit on it.sameandnot said:if humans are "part and parcel" of nature, why do we try to separate ourselves from it? why do we destroy it? why do we shun it and try to conquer it? is it for our own glorification?
the question is certainly a valid one.

The recurring mistake in viewing evolution is the concept that there is some goal; that there is something good or bad in it.
Whether we are here or not, whether any other species is here or not, is a "so what?" proposition.
The universe will get along fine after the Sun goes red and consumes the Earth. If the universe eventually disappears, we won't even be a blip in the scheme of things.
In the meantime, let's try to make things as pleasant as possible. ...but...pleasant for whom? ...

That makes absolutely no sense, because we are alive, we should rape, kill, and destroy?waht said:If we are a result of evolution, then everything we do is perfectly acceptable since evolution has crafted us the way we are. We hold no responibility for any actions we make like raping, killing, or destroying.
Again you make no sense. If we destroy the environment that currently exists, evolution has not failed. Evolution will continue to rebuild the Earth and some old species will adapt, some will fail, and some new ones will arise. Evolution is NOT meant to keep humans alive! When we destroy our planet from pollution and wars then evolution have failed us. And will favor other species that survive.
Not at all!waht said:If we are a result of evolution, then everything we do is perfectly acceptable since evolution has crafted us the way we are. We hold no responibility for any actions we make like raping, killing, or destroying.

I wouldn't put it like that, because evolution is only a consequence of the behaviour of living beings. So evolution hasnt failed us, we have (possibly)failed ourselves, and the result is that we won't survive and won't evolve (thereby stopping evolution in our species).waht said:I mean evolution have failed us in the sense that it failed to make species that will last indefinetly like ants that have survived for 100 millions years.
It would be like a rapist saying that raping is acceptable because his deed crafted him into a rapist. If we are a result of evolution, then everything we do is perfectly acceptable since evolution has crafted us the way we are.

There is a significant amount of evidence supporting the theory of evolution, including fossil records, anatomical similarities between species, and genetic evidence. Fossil records show a gradual change in species over time, while anatomical similarities suggest a common ancestor. Additionally, genetic studies have shown that all living organisms share a common genetic code, further supporting the theory of evolution.
Human influence has had a significant impact on species evolution. Through activities such as hunting, habitat destruction, and introduction of non-native species, humans have caused many species to go extinct or adapt to new environments. Furthermore, human-driven climate change is altering the natural habitats of many species, leading to further evolutionary changes.
This is a complex question and one that is still up for debate. On one hand, human actions have caused harm to many species and disrupted natural evolutionary processes. On the other hand, humans have also played a role in preserving and protecting certain species through conservation efforts. Ultimately, the fairness of our influence on species evolution depends on one's perspective and values.
While humans have the ability to influence evolution through our actions, we cannot control or manipulate it on a large scale. Evolution is a natural process that occurs over many generations and is influenced by a variety of factors, including environmental conditions and genetic variation. While we may be able to manipulate certain traits in species through selective breeding, we cannot control the overall course of evolution.
Yes, humans will continue to evolve in the future. Evolution is an ongoing process and as long as humans continue to reproduce and face environmental pressures, our species will continue to evolve. However, the rate and direction of our evolution will depend on various factors, including our technological advancements and ability to adapt to changing environments.
