    Inversion
In summary, insertion is a genetic mutation where nucleotides are added to a DNA sequence, deletion is a genetic mutation where nucleotides are removed from a DNA sequence, and inversion is a genetic mutation where a segment of DNA is reversed. These mutations can occur spontaneously or be caused by environmental factors and can lead to changes in an organism's traits or characteristics by affecting protein function.

Can you help me ?thanx

You have got a what? I guess that is part of a sequence? You should write down the whole sequence, like TATATATATA, which becomes TATCATATATA with an insertion of a base or TATAATATA with a deletion or ATATATATATAT with an inversion :)

Ah.., I see it now, thanks Monique a lot, :)

FAQ: Insertion, deletion, inversion?

What is insertion?

Insertion is a type of genetic mutation where one or more nucleotides are added to a DNA sequence, resulting in a change in the genetic code.

What is deletion?

Deletion is a type of genetic mutation where one or more nucleotides are removed from a DNA sequence, resulting in a change in the genetic code.

What is inversion?

Inversion is a type of genetic mutation where a segment of DNA is reversed within a chromosome, resulting in a change in the genetic code.

What causes insertion, deletion, and inversion?

These types of mutations can occur spontaneously, but can also be caused by exposure to certain environmental factors such as radiation or chemicals.

How do insertion, deletion, and inversion affect an organism?

Insertion, deletion, and inversion can lead to changes in the protein sequence, which can affect the function of the protein and potentially lead to changes in an organism's traits or characteristics.
