I am coming towards the end of my undergraduate degree in Physics with Astrophysics and have recently been applying for taught MSc courses in Petroleum/Exploration Geophysics.
I have no experience in Geology whatsoever although I know that many physics undergrads are accepted onto these courses. However I have heard that at the interviews for scholarships, representatives from the sponsoring oil companies can ask a lot of technical geology questions.
Does anyone have any experience of these kind of interviews?
In terms of the physics, I will brush up on wave theory, acoustics and Fourier analysis.
If I were to spend one day studying the geology, what areas would people recommend?
