In summary, a degree in physics can still be relevant in the IT world as it provides a strong foundation in problem-solving, critical thinking, and mathematical skills. These skills are valuable in fields such as data analysis, machine learning, and software development. Additionally, a background in physics can also help individuals understand the underlying principles of technology and how to apply them in practical ways. However, it is important for individuals to also gain knowledge and skills in specific IT areas in order to be competitive in the job market.

How did you find PF?
Facebook article about Ising bit-width
Graduated in '79 with a bad degree¹. Went into IT, like most science grads then. Still keep an interest, and occasionally fall down Quora rabbit-holes.

¹Spent too much time on the computer, not enough on textbooks.
