In summary, a couple from Manitowoc, Wisconsin recently completed the challenging task of boating America's Great Loop, a one-year and 6,000-mile journey that takes boaters through the Great Lakes, Mississippi River, Gulf of Mexico, Florida Keys, Atlantic Ocean, Hudson River, Lake Champlain, St. Lawrence Seaway, and back to the Great Lakes. The trip likely also included the Intracoastal Waterway, a popular route for boaters to see various sights and locations. The couple most likely utilized this route whenever possible, as their boat was better suited for calmer waters. Overall, the Great Loop is a rare and impressive feat that requires both skill and determination.

Shouldn't you have included the Intracoastal Waterway somehow?
That would be included in the Gulf of Mexico, Florida Keys, Atlantic Ocean. I could have mentioned that they include the Intracoastal Waterway, but I don't know how much of the trip involved the IW. They might have sailed offshore for much of the time.

They probably did at every opportunity since it is a trawler. These are primarily flat water boats that roll considerably in a seaway. They would take it offshore only if sea conditions were favorable. Besides you only get to see all those interesting places if you stay inshore or in the ICW.
