In summary, it is uncertain if Firefly will have a second season, as it was canceled 8 years ago and Fox has not given up their rights to the show. The movie Serenity is the closest fans will get to a continuation of the series. While some believe it is a great movie, others feel it is only enjoyable if you have seen the series beforehand.

Anyone know if Firefly is going to have a second season? I'm hoping so since it's being shown on the Science Channel now.

Last I heard Fox will not give up their rights to the show, and they won't play ball with getting a second season up and running. So unless someone comes forth with a tonn of money I'm seconding the no. It is a shame no second season.

Agree on Serenity. Killer movie! Please, nobody spoil it with a sequel!

The dialog is stilted at times, but the movie works pretty well on most levels.

I think it's a great movie if you saws the series first. I saw it without seeing the series, and thought it was kinda weak, then I saw the series, then I saw it again and I thought it was rad.
